A Minor Technicality 35 - Drive baby flashy flash
20 Feb 2008 @ 05:47 am

It's Minor Technicality 35 and three years since I started this podcasting lark. Today's episode, I talk about the joys of attending speed awareness classes - thanks, Mr. Speed Camera - and have a moan about podcasters who auto-play their shows on their websites, and since it is around the third birthday of this show, a little despondent retrospective on how community within podcasting failed to live up to its potential and 2008 is time to move on and look at the new, and very different, age of independent media. Tracks from Harrison Kennedy and Manic Street Preachers from the Podsafe Music Network. Running time: 37 minutes.

A Minor Technicality 34 - What on earth was I talking about?
18 Jan 2008 @ 05:32 am

minortechnicality.jpgWelcome to another MinorTechnicality - the first of 2008, and the first of many in 2008 (honest!). I am disorganised and cannot remember whether I've spoken about a particular subject - and by the end of the show I still don't manage it! Update on TableRappers and the very latest audio promo, there's an interruption accompanied by movie popcorn, and I plan ahead with a special target for 2008. Promos from GreenDragon's BiteSizeBonus and TableRappers Persistent Spirit. Music from Natives of the New Dawn and Mean Gene Melton and the Die Hards, from the Podsafe Music Network.
Epsode length: 31 minutes

A Minor Technicality 33 - them Brits be island folk
16 Dec 2007 @ 06:21 am

It's already December 16th and time to give a little Christmas spirit with a handful of Christmas promos from a few other UK shows.

This episode comes to you courtesy of the British transport system, the British aptitude for selfishness, and the British attitude for getting away with stuff.

There's also stuff about beeping toasters, and a very unique, sneak preview of the latest piece of music for TableRappers.com.

Music from Neil Smith and Carey Bell

A Minor Technicality 32 - Bright lights and birdies
2 Dec 2007 @ 07:51 am

Another Minor Technicality lights up your ears on a dull, damp, windy December Sunday Morning.
Some feedback on the lastshow - it seems my waffly ranting ruffled some feathers here and there and generated a great response. TableRappers.com - the first prelude episode is finally released after so many hours of hard graft getting it just right.Sleep and waking up to light and birdsong with the Philips HF3461 Wake-Up Light Alarm Clock Tracks from Cactus - Muscle & Soul - and Traces of Nuts - I'm Not Santa Clause I've Come.

A Minor Technicality 31 - a bucketload of podwaffle
18 Nov 2007 @ 08:40 am

Yes, waffling, out of practise, and potentially rather dull. But don't complain because I only manage to subject you to this rubbish two or three times a year - so there! I'm catching up on what has happened (and missing a whole bunch more). There's the dropping of the 'pod' and the changes in podcasting, there's desertislendgeek.com and the hassle it is to make it happen, there's tablerappers.com and the joy of spending time with imaginary friends, and there's how changes to the idea of monetizing indie productions is consuming my every waking hour. Music from Jeff Kornberg (Damn) and Supernal (Colour Fades Away).

MT030 - Get your hands on me overdue toothpaste
24 Jun 2007 @ 09:30 am

It's the 30th episode and would be a time to create a special celebratory show - but there's far to much to talk about so let's create, download, and listen in the spirit of celebration! Thik of it like a party you didn't manage to make but still wish those who did to have a great time.

Music from Koopa and Graham Holland

MT029 - Deliver us from the clutches of P and J
20 May 2007 @ 01:07 am

Minor Technicality slips into your ears once more with a look at Twitter, how authors are being branded more than their books, the way to deal with email is to switch it off, sniffer dogs at the station, freecyclegems.wordpress.com, and at last, the banjo!

Music from John Lee Hooker, jamelopoeia, and the Dueling Banjos lesson.
Promo from Great Britain? The Podcast

...and also a word or two from Jason and Pete...
