DWO WhoCast episode 132
26 Aug 2009 @ 08:00 am

The Third Doctor was a suave, authoritative man of action. Not unlike both Trevor and, to an equal degree, Marty (opinions may differ).

This edition of the DWO Whocast delves, at long last, into the time of John Devon Roland Pertwee, more easily known to us lot as Jon Pertwee

This is the first of three dedicated shows which begins with a general background and overview of this wonderful depiction of our favourite renegade Time Lord.

Send in your thoughts on the 3rd Doctor to feedback@thewhocast.com - we would love to feature your feedback in an upcoming episode!

Still more to be said about Torchwood apparently, more specifically, Children of Earth, its characters and their motivations.

The feedback is overflowing with your opinions on Torchwood, and it's our great pleasure to read them out in this episode.

Never fear though, we still have a very large news section, with all the news that's fit to be read out from the world of Whodom.

DWO WhoCast episode 129
28 Jul 2009 @ 08:00 am

Back to normal after two episodes of Torchwood goodness, Trevor and Marty don their ties and best jackets and slip behind the news desk and spend an episode nattering about the recent events in the Whoniverse.

This episode does contain spoilers for some of the more topical items that have been announced recently, so if you wish to avoid the spoilers 5.23 - 14.16 is not a part of the podcast you should be listening to.

But apart from that, the boys cover the latest in news, and manage to slip in a review for the semi-recent release of that most superb Patrick Troughton DVD release, The War Games (or as its known in fan circles the episode with the 9 episodes of filler).

Marty and Trevor seek to debunk the fan myth that War Games is boring, and hope to convince you to rush out and buy this release.

DWO WhoCast episode 127
3 Jul 2009 @ 08:00 am

No one would have believed that in the first years of the 21st century that Doctor Who would ever come back from the timeless worlds of cancellation. No one could have dreamed it was being scrutinized as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibility of Christopher Eccleston leading the role. And yet across the gulf of the BBC minds immeasurably superior to ours regarded this show with optimistic eyes and slowly and surely they drew their plans to bring it back.

And who would have thought that one season of Doctor Who, one Doctor, would achieve a three-part retrospective! But here we are again. Trev and Marty (and James!) finish up their look upon this Ninth Doctor fellow, grab some feedback and give their thoughts on the second half of season one.

DWO WhoCast episode 126

Tune in in a few days time to catch the next part of our look at the Christopher Eccleston Doctor.

DWO WhoCast episode 125
23 Jun 2009 @ 08:00 am

Our focus is the Ninth Doctor, Christopher Ecclestone, in the first of our two podcast look at the man who was instrumental in bringing Doctor Who back to us in 2005.

We look at how it all came about, just how responsible is he for the show's current success, and did he leave too early?

Join Trevor and Marty as we delve into a year of Doctor Who where leather jackets were all the rage and it was again for the Doctor to snog his companions.
