The keynote speaker of the Scottish Sea Kayak Symposium 2009, Trevor Potts was among first team to kayak the Bering Strait between Alaska and the former Soviet Union in 1989. This is a long podcast, almost an hour in duration, because Trevor has such an interesting tale to tell. He now runs the campsite at Kilchoan on Ardnamurchan and lectures on Antarctic History. It’s not every day I get to chat to a native Alaskan kayak maker. This is Sean Gallagher, part of the 13th region corporation. He grew up watching his uncle carve King Island style soap stone figures - the only King Island family in Massachusetts. We spoke in a rather noisy corner of the SCA show in Perth in October 2008.
