The Phenomonal Hand clap Band are a close-knit aggregation of musicians and artists from the Manhattan and Brooklyn made up of Daniel, Sean, Patrick, Nicholas, Luke, Laura, Bing, Pier and Joan.

Collas and Marquand, two New York underground club DJ’s who thought that rather than playing other people’s music they would produce their own, the concept was born. The sounds of PHB range from Brazilian soul to vintage Psych-rock.

The debut album features guest appearances by Aurello Valle, carol c, Jaleel Bunton, Bart Davenport, Jon Spencer and Lady Tigra.’ They have crafted a sound that is equal parts anthemic, dancefloo-orientated and orchestral, borrowing elements from progressive rock, disco, electro, and psychedelia’.

This episode of Flyposter features the full eight members in soundcheck, performing their new single 15 to 20.

After weeks of reports that he is having money trouble, Nicolas cage has admitted that he is facing financial ruin. The actor owes over $4millino to the US government and is suing his business manager- who claims he is to blame. Cage earnt a reported $30million last year, and has in fact been in trouble with the IRS before, having to pay out a massive £350,000- when he miss claimed on business expenses. Everyone is on their best behavior on Wisteria Lane as writers have revealed that for the series mid-season cliff hanger, a plane will crash on Fairview. (We kind of knew that already) They have also revealed that several cast members probably won’t survive! Former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff, who’s life is a little like a reality show, is on the verge of signing a deal with the A&E channel to make a ‘documentary’ about his life. The series will feature his teenage daughter, but apparently not his bitter ex-wife. The Hills star Heidi Montag was a no show at her sister Holly’s 26^th birthday party, and immediately reports came in that she and husband Spencer Pratt won’t go to anything without an appearance fee- including family birthdays- Heidi denies this. This week’s Hero is Jessica Simpson who is standing by her shape, despite many media personalities making jokes about her weight gain. Jessica says she is not over weight, she’s happy and sticking with it! Villain of the week goes to…Lindsay Lohan! Who didn’t win any fans showing up an hour late for court. She was slapped with an extra years probation for failing to attend group alcohol classes and was warned that further violation will end in jail time. Band of Skulls - New sinlge featured in Twilight saga film New Moon

Band of Skulls has risen to out attention through becoming single of the week on iTunes and now featuring on the sound track of the eagerly anticipated New Moon film- the latest instalment of the epic Twilight saga.Gill caught up with the trio at the Barfly in Camden, where we heard an exclusive rendition of the new single during sound check... The band comprises of Russell Marsden (guitar & vocals), Emma Richardson (bass & vocals) & Matt Hayward (drums), Here are some interesting facts about the band: All the artwork so far has been based on paintings by bass player / vocalist Emma. She has a record collection of over 20,000 albums and singles, swam for England and even won some medals. Drummer Matt has played tennis with John McEnroe while his Dad was in a band who supported the Rolling Stones and had the same manager as The Troggs. Russell's great great grandfather was a stowaway on the Titanic, fleeing Southampton and leaving behind three wives and 16 illegitimate children. Legends in their own life time? We think so. Enjoy! These young New York musicians have reaped the benefits from doing alot of the elbow work of their own promotion and marketing- ringing record stores in locations they know they're doing to be touring, doing the legwork, to make sure fans can get hold of the music. This fact alone impresses us at Flyposter, but added to this, they've been met with rave reviews and now find themselves supporting Flaming Lips.

We found them warming up at the Barfly, London, where they agreed to perform a rendition of And The Hazy Sea before the gig. A few influences they owned up to: Built To Spill, BedHead, Clinic, Long Winters, M83, Brian Eno, Nile Rodgers, Bernard Edwards, Guided By Voices, and...Police!

Middle Class Rut on Flyposter

Zack Lopez and Sean Stockham are the talents behind rock duo Middle Class Rut-

We found them getting ready to support 'And You Will Know Them By The Trail Of Dead' (who featured on flyposter a couple of weeks ago)- backstage of the Electric Ballroom, Camden.

Originally from Sacramento, the 2 completed their first major national tour in the autumn of 2007 and were met with rare reviews like “…it’s mind-blowing to witness the sheer depth and complexity of the sound these two guys are capable of unleashing on their own…but once the novelty subsides, you’re left with incendiary post-rock with visible traces of ‘90s alternative.”

On November 19, 2008 the band recorded a live session for BBC One

Kerrang! magazine wrote "[Their] sound is nothing short of colossal, and one that a mere two-piece shouldn't be able to create, combining the boisterous swagger and pomp of Jane's Addiction and the feral fury of Rage Against the Machine."

They are already writing the album, continuing to write through the summer- a release date is soon to be announced!

Flyposter meet Metric

Gill Meets the Emily Haines and James Shaw from Metric. They were hanging around the Electric Ballroom, waiting to set up for a show.

Metric formed in 1998 in New York City. Their first album 'Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?' earnt them a Juno award nomination for Best Alternative Album. If you're playing the album and think they sound familiar but you know know why- 'Monster Hospital', 'Police and the Private' and 'Front Row' were all featured on television show 'Grey's Anatomy' and CSI: Miami.

They currently have a new album out called 'Fantasies'. The band are currently touring the US and Canada at a variety of music festivals. They're playing Washington tonight, Philapelphia and Toronto, returning to London on the 26th June for Hard Rock Calling, and then Glastonbury on the 27th!
